Our big hike in Switzerland// Quite possibly my favorite day of our trip so far.
We only left Switzerland on Saturday and I already miss it. The mountains do really bring a certain peace to my soul. We spent our time in the Jungfrau Region, and one day while we were there, we did a long, tough hike through the Swiss Alps. It was quite possibly my favorite day of our trip so far. The scenery was indescribable, so I'll let the pictures speak for me.
Total distance: 14.5 miles
Total elevation gain: 6949 feet
Total elevation loss: 9380 feet
I was sore for a good three days after this hike, but my spirit was renewed.

An evening hike after work.
These trails are less than two miles from our house, so they provide the perfect opportunity for a post-work evening hike. The trails are rife with wildflowers; spring is in abundance in San Diego, and I couldn't be happier about it. The flowers don't last long with summer just around the corner, so we are trying to enjoy them as much as we can while they are in bloom.

A hike in Yosemite: a little film.
We spent a few days in Yosemite over spring break. I made this little film of a hike we took. Thanks to my mom, dad, brother, and husband for being my hiking buddies.

And happy birthday today to my brother, one of my favorite people in the entire world.

A hike to the Hollywood sign.
We've been wanting to explore Los Angeles ever since we got the stomach flu over Christmas break and our plans for a short trip to LA were thwarted. Spring break provided the opportunity to spend a couple of days in traffic wandering around the city, and the first thing we did was hike to the Hollywood sign with my brother. It was a beautiful, clear day.
We had about this much fun (and clearly my jumping skills need some work):
