Last year, I left my dream job to focus instead on creating my dream life.
After I had Cambria, when I got a taste of what it was like to be a stay at home mom to my then two and a half year old and new baby, I decided that I wanted to be able to spend more time with my kids while they are young than my job allowed.
It slowly became clear to me that I had a choice to make: I could focus on having my dream job or my dream life for this season.
I regularly remind myself that to everything there is a season. Right now, I have chosen this as the season I am in, and I am content in it. Even on the days we don't venture out, it is always an adventure.
I try not to take it for granted that my purpose right now is to create an environment for my kids to have what I hope is a beautiful childhood.
These are some photographs from one hour of one morning in our life, and if anyone can teach me how to live my best life, it is these two.

The progression of an art project:
They start out so careful and precise with their painting.
Then they have to clean up.
It's a good time.
