38 weeks.

Dear baby,

Last week, we experienced our second heat wave of May with temperatures in the 90s. I thought that since you are due on June 4, I would luckily miss out on the combination of oppressive heat and pregnancy, but I have not been so fortunate. With the heat, I was definitely ready for you to come out, but now that the weather has returned to our lovely days of temperatures in the 70s, I am feeling much better.

I vacillate between wanting to go into labor so that I can meet you already and wanting to just savor and enjoy these last couple of weeks where we are just a family of two and can do whatever we want whenever we want to, because I know that will change. We went to a concert, the beach, out to dinner, and I am trying to get as much sleep as I possibly can, because I know that will never happen again.

At the beach this week in a bikini, at 37.5 weeks pregnant, I felt like quite an attraction. It is really funny the comments you get and the stories people share with you when you are pregnant. That's been one of the most interesting parts of this pregnancy journey. You have been quite the fun constant companion to have.

Love,
Mama
