fall (n): a movement downward
fall (n): a sudden drop from an upright position
fall (n): the act of surrendering
I know that many people say fall is their favorite season, and I wish I had that kind of love in my heart for it, but it just hasn't been so. I'm just going to be honest here; October kicked my butt. It left me feeling exhausted, drained, and made me realize my weaknesses. Last week, I felt like a walking source of negative energy to all who crossed my path. Work commitments pile up, there never seems to be enough time, and it is my fault I spread myself so thin sometimes that I feel like I am not doing well at any one thing in my life. While I would love to be the type of person that always exudes positive energy, and rainbows, flowers, and shooting stars, the truth is that some seasons of life are just hard, and last month was one of those times for me. However, with every hard season there comes real life lessons that are always so valuable:
-My marriage is the most important thing for me. It has to be my number one priority.
-I have to take care of myself so I have something to offer others.
-A full schedule is not always the best schedule.
-I must strive to have a personal life/ work balance even though I love my job and care deeply about the work I do.
So, here's to November. I am claiming it as my month. My month to feel refreshed, successful, and like I have more to give to those around me. My month to focus on being more positive. I will wear boots and scarves. I will run in the crisp air. I will spend more time with my husband. I will enjoy the upcoming holiday. I will allow myself to get rejuvenated, so that I may have more to offer those around me.
