Street art in Amsterdam.

It wasn't quite what street art is in Berlin, but we still enjoyed exploring what Amsterdam offered us and found a few gems along the way. I especially liked the Statue of Liberty holding a peace flag and the little girl holding the sign, "A day without laughter is a day wasted." There is wisdom to be found in street art, I tell you... and it's free... always good for a budget traveler.

Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is strikingly beautiful to explore. The activity we enjoyed the most, besides spending time with our favorite Dutchie Wilco, was wandering around the canals. It was just so lovely.

Jumping for joy in The Netherlands.

The last stop on our trip was The Netherlands, where we were hosted by our favorite Dutchie, Wilco (who I studied with during my master's program). It was such a joy to catch up with him and discover his beautiful country. We spent one day exploring Zaanse Schans, a lovely historic Dutch neighborhood featuring windmills, wooden shoes, and cheese.
You know someone's a good friend when it is their idea to take jumping pictures (usually, it's always my idea to take silly photos). Sadly, this white girl can't jump.
