As the summer season has officially ended this week, I find myself feeling nostalgic. I am grateful for the trip we were able to take, but I am also grateful for the moments at home. Our summer was more simple and simultaneously more complicated than summers of the past. We didn't do any major traveling or go any place we haven't been before. We stuck to what is familiar and comfortable and life giving for our family: time in the mountains, lots of time outside, lots of beach time, park time, exploring San Diego, and just hanging out at home.
Our front yard is far from picturesque and it could use a lot of landscaping work, but we had a successful garden season this past summer and spent a lot of time hanging out in the front yard. In between picking strawberries and tomatoes and spaghetti squash, Everett liked to dig and "fix" things. We even produced enough tomatoes to share with our neighbors and we are excited to harvest our pumpkins for Halloween.
