Dear baby,
This week we reached the half way mark. Woo-hoo! I'm not sure I have been telling you much about myself in these letters, so in this one, I want to tell you about the craziest thing I've ever done (in my opinion). I got married when I was twenty years old, and that person is now going to be your dad. At the time, it didn't seem so wild to marry my high school sweetheart, but now that I am older and wiser, it seems so crazy that I got married when I was twenty! We dated for five years, and I guess we just knew- there hasn't been a day since that I've regretted that decision. Marriage is challenging, and I'll tell you all about that someday (there are some days we don't really like each other, but we always love each other), but as I attended my friend's wedding this week at City Hall, I was reminded that every person who makes a decision to spend the rest of his or her life with someone has made a crazy, yet beautiful decision, no matter how old you are, how long you've known the person, how you've met, etc. I guess I am telling you this, because I know someday, you will make some crazy decisions as a young adult, and I hope I will be there to support you through all of them.
Love,
Mama
