(lyrics from the most recent Mumford & Sons album, Babel)
Three day weekends save me. They connect me back to who I am, and even give me time to breathe and think about who I want to be. They make me realize why I do what I do, a career that is so entangled into who I am, a career that requires that I give so much of myself to others.
This past three day weekend, I found myself going on little adventures, exploring new places, dancing to live music, taking too many photos, watching the sunset over the ocean, telling cheesy jokes that make Matt roll his eyes, relaxing on the couch (a novelty these days), all things that connect me back to me. It gives me a different perspective going into the week.
