Life's simle joys.

On this ten year anniversary of 9/11, I find myself appreciating life and the little joys it has to offer. Breakfast in bed, a walk through the neighborhood, roaming around a farmer's market, a dinner outside on a warm evening, hot cookies from the oven. There has been and continues to be so much tragedy in this world of ours. It's almost unfair that I get to find joy in these little things while others suffer, and I'm not sure why I get to while others struggle. But one thing that seeing tragedy has taught me is that life is precious, and it's up to us to enjoy it and those around us whom we love. So that's what we focused on today, enjoying each other and life's simple joys.

Morning breakfast in bed.
 A walk through the neighborhood.
The year my dad was born (and somebody's address).
 Farmer's market bounty.
 Happy dog.
Dinner outside in the sunshine (best grilled corn on the cob ever).
Tomorrow, it's back to work where I daily strive to empower my students to create a more peaceful world than that which we know. I have hope.
